I've logically dismissed the gaseous exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide as a fraud.
We are not machines using gases of combustion and exhaust: oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Hydration not oxygenation underpins our physiology.
Hydration equals SALT plus water. All dryness leads to dis-ease.
Dehydration is our achilles heel.
The title of my article: We breathe air not oxygen.
And once you know the difference it's easy to understand my reasoning.
My third article: How does salt restriction lead to heart dis-ease and fear based reactionary thinking? I link the adrenals to dehydration. I explain low salt, an emergency, is managed by the adrenals. Chronic dehydration results in adrenal fatigue or chronic fatigue and stress intolerance.
Learning the symptoms of dehydration is paramount in managing hydration. Eg a headache is a symptom of dehydration, a cough is a sign of dehydration, dizzy on rising, muscle weakness, slow reflexes, cramps/ticks ... and act to remedy with salt plus water.
Salt is an ally and a panacea because every part of our physiology requires moisture. Water follows salt into and out of our bodies. Women require more salt than men because they are build to carry more fluid. This puts them at greater risk of dementia. A brain is most sensitive to dehydration, over time, chronic dehydration results in cognitive decline.
Salt turns off the adrenals, the RAAS, because it returns hydration.
A test: next time you feel an adrenaline rush: bad news, a fright, a drama - remember to take a pinch of salt plus water. Then notice calm return.
Hi Jane thank for commenting. I’m glad to see your interest in human physiology. I read your articles and your reader’s comments. I don’t spouse your views on oxygen and water and salt.
I think my audience is growing outside my target public, which is fine. At this point, I must be clear about a couple of things.
I am a physician, strictly adherent to western tradicional medicine. I was trained in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. It took me 10 years of full dedication just to complete the basic training.
I despise integrative / alternative / holistic approaches. Above all, I despise amateurism / quackery / charlatanism / denialism.
I won’t accept any form of medical science denialism in my publication. Specifically, there is no place here for anti-vaxxers and Covid denialists.
I think I made it clear enough for anyone who happens to read this response in the future.
I am thankful for the opportunity to straighten out any misunderstandings.
I wish you succeed in your journey of discovery and knowledge.
Thank you Rafael for taking the time to read outside your normal and very safe parameters. May you continue to respectfully critique your Substack cohort.

Great work.Enjoyable reading.
Excellent post. Totally agree
